Stairs offer significant safety advantages over standard vertical ladders. The stairs hook into the inside of the frame, efficiently creating a secure internal stairwell. Less chance of a fall exists with stairs. If a person does fall, they will only fall down at most one flight of stairs. Therefore, using stairs dramatically improves worker safety.

Using the scaffolding stair unit allows for faster and more efficient access to the elevated platform. Multiple people can use the stairs at one time. Furthermore, crews will be able to carry their own tools up and down the stairs easily, eliminating the need for hoisting or forklifts.
